A different you, a different time.

If you are alive today, you just may get to be here when something incredible happens to us. As a species, as a planet, and as a universe.

What I'm referring to is a shift.
Every 26,000 years marks the end and beginning of a solar cycle.
Cultures all over the world were aware of this, the most common of them being the Mayans.
This is known as a "great year".

A great year is divided into four parts or "seasons".
Gold, silver, bronze, and iron.
Currently we are in the iron age, and sadly none of us will be here when we finally move into the golden age.
But! The beautiful thing about being alive today, is that we get to be a part of the human race's transition or evolution, if you will, into what we are truly capable of being.

It is thought, that in 2012 a massive change is going to occur here on our planet.
Some believe this could be bad for us as a species.
While on the other hand, many others believe this marks the start of a much needed and very beneficial change for the better on our planet.
Personally I don't believe 2012 entails any massive overnight change but I do believe it is the beginning of a shift in our consciousness.
A shift worth being embraced.
While the nature of this change remains vague and illuding, I believe this could be the start of something incredible.

( I recommend taking a look at this)

Currently, our world is in desperate need of change.
Our planet has suffered greatly from serving as our host.
There is constant unrest in the world.
People fighting people, countries fighting countries.
Greed has become a way of life.

We can not continue to thrive in this manner if we wish to grow.
So where do we go from here?
Many great things have started from something small.
Although one person doesn't seem likely to make much of a difference, I can assure you that they can.
Just as a pebble dropped into water creates a rippling effect, you too can create a wake of enlightenment and positive energy to be shared with the world around you.

However, before you can make a great positive effect on the world.
You must have a positive effect on yourself.
To truly understand and love others you must first love yourself.
Let go of all your regrets.
Let go of all the flaws you think you have.
Let go of your grudges and your hate.
Free yourself of all your negative thoughts and energy.
Let in the light that is thriving all around you.
Forgive yourself and forgive others.
I promise you if you can do all of this you will notice a significant change in the way you feel about your life and the people in it.

(You might like to try this)

Once you have achieved your own personal equilibrium, you can then truly begin to have a positive effect on others. The ripple starts with you! No gesture is too small. I challenge you  to go about your day going that extra mile for others. Smile at the people you see, approach someone who looks lonely, make friends with a stranger, do something you would not normally do for someone else. Just as Buddha once said, "Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared."

To be continued...

  1. I want to start this off with a sort of pretext. I have no predictions, knowledge, or foresight about our future. Therefore, I have no reason nor right to denounce any claims that a dramatic genetic shift will occur in the coming years. That being said, I do have a few personal conflicts.

Firstly, I do not share the belief of this "paying it forward" ideal. At least, not entirely. I am a promoter of Individualism, and have only ever doubted Altruism as a means of destroying humanity. I believe that if it is within the interest of the individual to help others, then it is true Individualism. That is to say, if the person is able to gain something material or immaterial out of an act of kindness, then they have striven for good out of their own interest, instead of the interests of others or some higher power.

You speak of wars and death, but no war has ever started because someone in power said "Think of yourself". The wars of our world, the hatred of man towards man, all of that stems from the interest of the greater good, whatever it may be. God, King, Race, so long as it appears as a moral obligation to sacrifice oneself for a "higher purpose", then it will always be Altruism.

If what you say about a shift in humanity is true, then I hope only for the enlightenment of all to come hand in hand. I want to see a world where free men and women work towards their own interests, fairly, and see a greater world built because of it. No powers or gifts granted to the human race will shift the true powers of this world to other hands. Governments controlling a once free capitalist nation, banks controlling a falsely valued currency, and entire countries at each other's throats, all for the sake of keeping a choice few's wallets fat.

The problems of the world will not simply disappear because of a change in our being. If anything, those in power will only use it to their advantage, somehow. If the people of the world want enlightenment and a better tomorrow, they need to understand that this world cannot fix itself.

  2. Let me just clarify that I don't think something crazy is going to happen all at once next year lol. I think now and onward is the time for our growth. I think now is a time where many people are waking up and becoming aware of the sickness around them and wanting change.

I agree with you entirely about individualism and people making their world better through their own interests. There is room for enlightenment in almost all forms of interest. Some being science, art, astronomy, spirituality, just going out and doing something you've never done before. I myself have come to this point through a series of interests that led to where I am at now. I personally have no interest in doing anything for a higher power. I do believe that giving out a little extra positive energy is in fact contagious and beneficial to everyone. This is why I am so interested in doing so.

And when I speak of war and death happening because of greed, I am not saying people individually where thinking of themselves. But someone up the line had a greedy agenda and as long as their greedy agenda is playing along with the masses comfortable life, we continue to follow blindly. Granted, I know people do sometimes fight because they feel what they are doing is the right thing. But all throughout history and today soldiers have been offered land and money for their loyalty. So it can't all be a morality issue.

I too hope that somewhere down the road the world as a whole can be enlightened. But What I am getting at is that is not going to happen all by it's self, just like you said. The people who are aware of what's going on now, are the people who are going to move the world forward.

I was not at all saying we are going to make the world all better with random acts of kindness. I was implying that we all have to start somewhere. So if you are not in the right place to do something amazing, like most of us, you have to start small. The world will not be cured with good deeds alone. But positive energy spread about can't at all be a bad thing, and it is a good place to start. It serves as inspiration to others.

In order to accomplish great things as a whole, we have to start putting our different beliefs and interests aside and start working together. Or nothing will get done.
