We are not alone.

We are NOT alone in our universe.
At this point it's just a matter of the general public excepting that.
It's a little vain on our part to assume that we are the only intelligent life in the universe.
The universe is seemingly endless, and our planet is a grain of sand on the beach in comparison.

I believe that life froms somewhere else may be the reason we evolved the way we did.
Our evolutionary development all of a sudden jump started.
And scientists today still cannot find the missing link between us and the neanderthals.
Here's a thought, maybe that's because the missing link isn't here on Earth for us to find.

If you are still interested in reading, I recommend reading about the Ancient astronaut theory.
I won't be going very in depth into that theory because I could literally go on and on about it, but for you to understand what I'm talking about it's important you understand that theory at least a little.

Because we are so adamant on only truly believing in what we can examine with our basic senses
I will start with what you can see with your own eyes.

Youtube wasn't cooperating with me this morning
so I am going to have to just give you the link to this video.
I apologize for the inconvenience.

I get goose bumps every time I see this video.
And obviously, that's not the only visual evidence out there.
You could drown in all the reported sightings, videos, and pictures, that just happens to be one of my favorites.

So I guess the next question to ask is, what do they want?
Do they have good or bad intentions for our species?
My own personal opinion is, just like here on Earth there are good and bad people.
So perhaps, in the depths of our universe there are in fact different life forms out there, some of them have good intentions for us and maybe some have bad intentions for us.

I think there is really only one way to go about finding that out.
We as a whole need to get our heads out of our asses and start seeking the truth, for ourselves.

If we continue on the path that we are going we are going to continue to be blindly led.
We won't know the truth, we won't even be close to it.
There is a bigger picture to be seen, we just chose to go about our lives without it.
And if that's what you want to do, then by all means continue.
But for me, that's no longer good enough.
I want to see the bigger picture. I want to get off my hamster wheel, and start actually accomplishing something.

Getting the ball rolling...

The unwinding of our ability to reach higher states of consciousness has been going on for thousands of years.
Humankind's journey through evolution has gone in a direction that has ultimately filtered out the need or desire to use that part of us. However, there are still religious practices today that believe in this state of mind and strive to achieve enlightenment through it.

Today I have chosen to discuss different ways to achieve higher forms of consciousness.

1.) Meditation

I personally enjoy this method.
Meditation has been an effective way to achieve different states of consciousness even long before the times of Christ. And has been used by dozens of religions through out time.
If you are anything like me meditation can be a little difficult. It is very hard to turn off your mind, which is a very important if you wish to use this method.

Not that long ago a friend of mine recommended a  6 part video to me.
And it did in fact, prove it's self effective where other guided meditations had always failed me.

2.) Contemplation:

The contemplation of art and nature can lead to epiphanies.

No longer does the word just apply to its Greek origin meaning manifestation of a god or deity, but also a special and usually sudden raptures, where the meaning or reality of something becomes clear. Also known as, Enlightenment!
^.^

3.) Sex:

Yes, let's not act like children.
Sex is in fact a way to experience another form of consciousness.
I'm not saying every time you go do it you are going to have a god like experience.
But I am asking you to look back at one of the handfuls of times you may have had sex where you remember something incredible changing, not just with your body but your mind also took a trip. Believe it or not, your state of consciousness did change.

4.) Mind-altering substances:

I am going to tread carefully on this particular topic so I don't influence people to do something incredibly stupid and also so you, the reader don't get the wrong idea about how I conduct myself.
I am not in anyway telling any of you to go out and do a bunch of drugs so you can talk to god.
With that being said, I'll continue.

"In ancient times, people all over the world grew or gathered sacred plants (and fungi) with the power to inspire visions or conduct them on journeys to other worlds; some of these people, who are sometimes called shamans, returned with the kind of spiritual knowledge that underwrites whole religions."

A big mystery of human life, as Michael Pollan puts it, is that "there are plants in the garden that manufacture molecules with the power to change the subjective experience of reality we call consciousness."

5.) Theta waves:

A man named Robert Monroe said he had developed tapes which send different sound signals to each ear, signals of 400 to 404 hertz resulting in a blending inside the brain and forming a binaural beat frequency of 4hz (theta waves).
This produces a state of brain hemisphere equilibrium, and an altered state of mind.
These sounds are usually listened to with head phones to ensure each ear gets the sound designed for it.
It's actually a pretty interesting experience.

So there you have it, just because a higher state of consciousness doesn't come naturally to most of us anymore, doesn't mean we are incapable of reaching it.

I'm hoping this first post wasn't too much of a let down.
Plenty more to come.

The beginning.

Before I started this blog I want to give anyone who might be reading this a little information about me and the purpose of this blog.

My name is Ashlee, I am 20 years old and currently residing in southern California.
For years now I have felt out of place in the world.
I have grown weary of society's norm. The constant disregard of other people and living things, the general need that all people have to cling to trivial and material things, and the emptiness that comes from living life the way we do today.

I want to clarify now that this blog is not about any religious views of any kind. However, I do not discriminate anyone's beliefs. I believe in people doing what makes them genuinely happy.

I am making this blog to keep track of information I have come by during my exploration for enlightenment, that I feel is valid enough to hold onto and to share.

In this blog I will cover a number of things:

*The higher state of consciousness that we all have.
*Why we don't use this state of consciousness in our daily lives today.
*Different ways to accomplish a higher state of consciousness.
*The FACT that we are not alone in this universe.
*The FACT that there is good and evil throughout the universe just as there is good and evil in our own world.
*The connection ALL things have within the universe.
*...and as I continue my own personal journey, much much more.

I hope writing this blog will not only help me but also you, whoever may be reading.

Much love,
Ashlee.
